Sunday

Sunday's are meant to for rest. At least that's what I've always believed. But people find rest in many different ways. Some people achieve repose when they are far from all human civilizations. some find rest when they are pampered, or taken care of. Others require TV and video games to feel at rest. Rest is a relative term. the dictionary defines rest as

1: repose, sleep; specifically : a bodily state characterized by minimal functional and metabolic activities

2 a : freedom from activity or labor b : a state of motionlessness or inactivity c : the repose of death 

 

 So, why has the world for centuries prescribed Sunday as a day of rest? Of course biblical reference has taught us that the sabbath day should be spent in dedicating ones time to God but if you ask me that is not far from a restful way to spend the sabbath.  Nap time.
